'VETTES AT THE VILLAGE' RETURNS TO WORLD GOLF VILLAGE FOR TENTH YEAR All-Corvette Show to be Displayed Around the Walk of Champions June 14
St. Augustine, Fla. (June 2, 2008) — Over 100 classic, late model, hot rod and custom Corvettes will be on view Saturday, June 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. along the World Golf Village’s Walk of Champions for the tenth-annual “Vettes at the Village.” The public will have the opportunity to see the “Corvette Circle of Evolution,” the complete history of the Corvette from 1953 to 2008. The event, free and open to the public, is sponsored by the North Florida Corvette Association and the Corvette Club of Mandarin.
An awards ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. presenting Best of Show and first and second place for each class as well as a Top 40 award plaque. All cars also will be eligible for the People’s Choice Award. In addition, a hole-in-one contest will take place on the World Golf Hall of Fame Challenge Hole to win a brand new Corvette, courtesy of Coggin Chevrolet at the Avenues.
Registration for Corvette owners is $40 and will be open from 7 to 10 a.m. The first 100 registrants will receive a goodie bag, a 2008 event t-shirt and dash plaque. Other Father’s Day weekend activities at World Golf Village will include Community Day at the World Golf Hall of Fame on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Hall of Fame will offer free admission to every guest as well as goodie bags and a variety of contests and prizes throughout the day. Dads also will receive free admission to one film at the World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater and one free round on the Hall’s 18-hole putting course.
Murray Bros. Caddyshack, Fairways Café, 500 South at the Renaissance Resort and the PGA TOUR STOP along the Walk of Champions at World Golf Village also will be open throughout the weekend.
