Sherry Davidson wins SPIRIT Award

Awards program honors real estate and construction industry standouts

Jacksonville Fla. (Feb. 8, 2008) – Sherry Davidson, president of Davidson Realty, Inc.., was recently recognized by area real estate trade publication Realty/Builder Connection through the newspaper’s first annual SPIRIT Awards.

Designed to honor outstanding representatives of Northeast Florida’s real estate and construction industry, the awards – based on the acronym SPIRIT – are offered in the following categories: service, passion, integrity, respect, initiative and teamwork, along with a lifetime achievement award.  Davidson was honored in the “Respect” category.

An article in the publication’s January issue stated that “Davidson has been one of the most respected members of the Northeast Florida real estate landscape for some time now.” 

According to Jim Bailey, president of Bailey Publishing and Communications, Inc. and publisher of Realty/Builder Connection, “It’s our way of showing appreciation to people in the industry.  We had many nominations and we think our selections reflect the industry’s best in this area.”  The awards will be given on an annual basis.

Before forming the Davidson Companies with her husband, Jim, Davidson was a self-employed financial and tax expert who also published and taught real estate investment analysis and taxation courses. She handled tax research and planning for The Charter Company; Smith and Howard, P.C. of Atlanta; and Davis and Upchurch of Atlanta.

She is a five-time winner of the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors’ (NEFAR) Commercial Investment Division’s Golden Triangle Award (overall top producer) and is past chair of NEFAR’s Commercial Investment Division.  She is currently on the board of directors of the Florida Association of Realtors and NEFAR.
