Davidson Realty wins award from The Blood Alliance
Company hosts blood drives every other month at World Golf Village

St. Augustine, Fla. (May 22, 2008) – Davidson Realty was recently honored with an award for “Best New Blood Drive” at the Blood Center of the St. Johns - The Blood Alliance’s recent appreciation event. Earlier this year, the company formed a partnership with the Alliance and began hosting ongoing blood drives at World Golf Village to help with area shortages.

“I was very touched by the award and quite surprised,” said Sherry Davidson, president of Davidson Realty, Inc. “There is a critical need for donations, so we were just trying to do our part. We never expected to be honored for our efforts – we just got involved because it was the right thing to do.”
 
Davidson Realty will continue to host blood drives on the first Saturday of every other month. The drives will be held at the company’s headquarters at 100 E. Town Place at the entrance of World Golf Village on June 7, Aug. 2, Oct. 4 and Dec. 6 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m..
 
According to Blood Alliance representatives, every eight minutes someone in the Jacksonville area uses blood.  The donation process only takes approximately an hour, including screening, while the actual act of drawing blood takes only 10 minutes.
